Walhausen is located in the beautiful Hunsrück to the east of the town of Zell (Mosel). The parish is connected to the surrounding villages by the "Kirchspiel-Wanderweg" (parish hiking trail). It offers numerous opportunities for short and extended hikes. The Maria Himmelfahrt chapel in the centre of the village was built in 1952.
