Tellig

Wide Hunsrück Heights

Tellig is located in northern Hunsrück on the Altlayer Bachtal valley's edge. The three-nave hall church in the village was built in 1864 in neo-Gothic style, and the tower was added in 1933. The oldest building in the village is the parish barn from the 15th century. It was initially the parish chapel and is now used as a parish home.

Together with the parish barn and the parish church, the rectory, built-in 1834, forms an exciting ensemble. In 1989, the vicarage was placed under a preservation order and was lavishly and considerately renovated in 1992. Various hiking trails lead around Tellig and down into the Mosel valley. Via Tellig you reach the Zell district of Althaus with its pig and horse farm.
