Picture book views and exciting cultural history. At a total of 25 stations, on the trail of the Zell Black Cat, you can learn interesting facts about viticulture, the secret of the "Zeller Black Cat", the church tower without corners, the old wine press stone of a Roman wine press and much more.
Breathtaking views and exciting cultural history: In no other town on the Moselle is viticulture as present as in Zell. Right in the heart of the city, just a few meters from the town hall, the vines thrive on sunny steep slopes on slate soils rich in minerals. Zell (Mosel) deserves the title "Weinstadt" due to its excellent, multi-award-winning wines and the long history of viticulture. Cat's paws mark the themed hiking trail that provides information about viticulture in Zell (Mosel) and the history of the "Zeller Black Cat".
The starting point of the 3 km long hiking trail is the "Zeller Black Cat" fountain on the market square. From here you walk straight ahead uphill at the town hall and follow the cat tracks into the vineyards of the Zeller Schwarze Katz, which mark the themed trail.
The hiking trail is one of the few trails on the Moselle that can also be hiked with a pram.
If you like it sporty, you can make a detour via the Collis steep path with via ferrata to the Collisturm. The refreshment station at the Collis Tower is open when the blue flag is waving.
Take the B53 to the opposite side of the Moselle (via the Bullay double-decker bridge or the Zell-Kaimt motorway bridge). Then go straight on until you reach the Zell (Mosel) town hall, Balduinstr. 44, 56856 Zell (Mosel).
