The circular tour starts, runs and ends in the newly designed spa gardens on the Kueser Plateua in Bernkastel-Kues. It is one of three new paths on the plateau.
The Skywalk is one of the new attractions in the town of Bernkastel-Kues. It is located in the vineyards of Kues, high above the town. The new hiking trail uses the Skywalk as a reference point. The tour starts in the centre of the spa gardens. It has also been lovingly redesigned, with new greenery and plants, fixed paths and numerous attractions.
We start in the spa car park on the Kueser Plateau and follow the ‘Skywalkweg’ holiday trail sign. We walk on firm paths, past the fog bank and within sight of the moor until we reach the large car park of the former Hotel Moselpark. At the opposite end of the car park, the trail first winds up, then goes straight ahead on a firm path through the forest that is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs until we reach the Skywalk. The Rosenberghütte is the next destination within sight of the Skywalk. We walk past the Rosenberghütte, then turn right and walk along the vineyards on tarmac paths until the path turns right again onto the Kueser Plateau. Passing newly created viewpoints, we then return to the starting point on the Kueser Plateau.
No special instructions.
‘Normal’ clothing is perfectly adequate.
Plan time for photos, the view from the skywalk is impressive.
The hiking trail is well signposted. It can be reached via Bernkastel-Kues, spa clinics and the Kueser Plateau.
