Moselle cycle path Zell (Mosel) - Cochem

The Moselle cycle path begins at the "Zeller Schwarze Katz" fountain in Zell (Mosel), over the historic railway bridge in Bullay, it goes to the left side of the Moselle and from there straight on to Cochem. Alf is nestled between the forest and vineyards. Passing the Alfer Baachspauter, it goes to St. Aldegund - with its lovingly restored half-timbered houses, the journey continues to Bremm. The wine village, with its narrow, winding streets, lies at the foot of the steepest vineyard in Europe - the Calmont. Those who face the challenge of climbing the steepest vineyard in Europe on the "Calmont via ferrata" will find one of the most beautiful views over the Moselle valley at the summit cross. The bike tour continues along the idyllic wine towns of Ediger-Eller, Nehren and Senhals to Ellenz-Poltersdorf. Here you have the opportunity to take a ferry to the other bank of the Moselle to visit Beilstein, the "Sleeping Beauty of the Moselle" with its small alleys, the famous half-timbered backdrop and the Metternich Castle looming over the town. Back on the left bank of the Moselle, the stage destination Cochem is finally reached via Ernst. The picturesque town offers the best conditions for the end of the day: winding streets lead to the market square with its old gabled houses, the baroque town hall and the Martinsbrunnen. You can stroll along the lively Moselle promenade between wine bars and cafés. The imposing Imperial Castle from the 11th century dominates the cityscape from almost every perspective and is definitely worth a visit.
