Circular hike through forest and vineyards around the Zell-Barl district, with magnificent views of the Moselle valley.
The hiking trail takes you through woods and vineyards, once around the district of Zell-Barl, with beautiful views of the Moselle valley and the wine villages of Zell (Mosel) and Pünderich.
Start: car park below the Marienburg - follow the left-hand path uphill in the direction of Zell (Barl) - a short distance through the Zell-Barl residential area and straight on into the forest and through the vineyards. Behind the senior citizens' centre, take a sharp left down the steps - keep to the right and continue through the vineyards to the main road - walk a short distance along the main road - turn left diagonally opposite onto the hiking path - continue along the forest path to the "Schwanzhütte" lookout point - there, follow the path straight down to the starting point.

Refreshments at the old ferry house (in good weather: Easter to October, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
From Alf, follow the B53 towards Zell-Kaimt and turn right towards Zell-Barl. Take the next right to Marienburg Castle.
